ArtShaker Android App

ArtShaker is now available for Android, following its 2013 release for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The app invites users to turn their own photos or works from the Beyeler Collection into new compositions.

Shake, move and experiment

Shaking and moving the device changes the image, while more than 20 art filters offer different ways to explore color, form, light and composition. The interaction makes experimenting with an image part of the creative process.

Discover the art behind the effects

Alongside image creation, ArtShaker provides background information about artists and major twentieth-century art movements. It includes the 27 questions and answers from Fondation Beyeler’s book What is art?.

The Android version also adapts its tutorials for different screen sizes. The project combines creative play with art education, supported by UBS.
